Dear Family

This week was not good lesson wise, we had like every lesson that we planned fall through.  It was frustrating but it happens.  College kids are some of the flakeyist people on this earth!  It is finals week for them this week and then next week is spring break, so needless to say we are going to be doing a lot more work over in the 1st ward these next few weeks.  The upside is that the weather has been incredible the last few days.  It has been in the 70's and sunny and warm.  I LOVE it so much.  We had kind of a sad thing happen this morning though.  Its kind of a bummer.  We had our Zone Conference this past Friday and for some reason the Spanish elders stayed in Medford to talk to president and it threw off our schedule because we had to do interviews for three people who were getting baptized in the Spanish branch on Saturday.  So we get a call last night from President Young telling us what it was all about and that he had decided to emergency transfer one of the missionaries in the Spanish branch and that we needed to go and spend the night at their place and get him off in the morning.  He asked Elder Anderson if he would drive him up to Eugene and get the other Elder and bring him back (thank goodness ha ha) so they left about 9 and will be back around 5 hopefully.  It is sad to see him go and it was a long night, we spent a lot of time talking and trying to help the situation, he was pretty upset about the whole thing.  We didn't get to bed until like 1 and then got up at 530 to start packing and get everything situated and ready to go.  I wish there was more I could do to help, more words of wisdom that I could provide but he's got to work this out for himself.

We had a baptism this past weekend in the Singles Branch.  It was very good, the spirit was very strong and we had one of our other investigators come and felt the spirit as well and she is hopefully going to get dunked sometime soon.  Her name is Mikeda, she is the girlfriends of the members in the branch.  She told us that the first time that she prayed she got an answer that it was true.  The only hang up with her is that she is really worried about the people in her previous church disowning her and not being supportive.  But we talked to her briefly last night and she said that she was feeling more at peace with the situation and that her prayers were being answered that it would all be okay if she put god first.  The singles branch is exploding right now, the members are sharing the gospel with their friends like crazy and we are being kept busy.

Our zone has seen so many miracles the past few weeks.  We as a zone had 5 baptisms this weekend and then we have more this week and several more the last week in march.  They have really taken to heart the challenge to get 300 baptisms before the end of the 4 months.  We are well on our way of hitting our goal, we have to get 18 to do our part in the goal and we already have 6 two weeks into the month.  The lord has blessed us a ton and we just have to keep being good and working hard.  I love these guys down here.  Well everyone, Thank you for all your love and support, I love you all very much!

Love,
Elder Erickson
